Caturday Art

This was a neat challenge Mommy learned to make popcorn boxes.

Socks was pure awesome and we will always love him and remember him fondly. We miss him a lot. We are all Rescues here so Remember Me Thursday is very important to us. We all know how easily it could have been us dying in a shelter. We think how Socks came to be born probably happens a lot. His Mother Cat's person didn't think she needed to be spayed because she was going to be an INSIDE ONLY cat and the only cat in the household. Then the cute little girl kitten grew up and went into heat.

Signs of estrus or cats in heat:

Even if you’ve never been around cats in heat before, you’re very likely to know something is going on with your pet — the behaviors she uses to get the attention of a potential mate will no doubt get your attention as well. The signs of cats in heat or cat experiencing estrus can mimic signs of pain or distress in your cat, and include the following:
  1. Your cat is likely to become extremely affectionate, constantly rubbing up against you, other animals in the household, or even the furniture.
  2. When you stroke or pet your cat, she may instinctively assume the mating position, with her head down low and hindquarters raised high.
  3. She’ll become noticeably more vocal, and her vocalizations will include unusually loud yowls that are designed to gain the attention of a mate.
  4. She may spray a fine stream of urine around your home as she marks her territory in an effort to lure in a mate.
  5. Your cat may exhibit restless pacing, or may roll back and forth on the floor constantly.
  6. She may lose her appetite completely.
  7. In some cases your cat may persistently lick her genitals, which are likely to be engorged and swollen. You may also notice a bloody discharge.
  8. Your cat may make continued attempts to escape from your home in her efforts to find a mate. This may include clawing at window screens or dashing out the door when it opens.
Well the vocalizations and the clawing at window screens drove her person nuts so she threw her outside so she could get some sleep after all she had to go to work the next day and... well as you can guess she found a boy cat and got pg. Luckily for Socks his Mom Cat was brought to Grandpa's house along with her kittens and our Youngest Boy picked Socks to come home. Even luckier a much younger Mom was able to dive off the deck and catch him.

So please people Spay and Neuter your cats and dogs even if they are going to be inside only and live in single pet households.

Mommy's totally purple page.

And now for some pages she colored.

Doesn't this cat look magical?

Spaying not only prevents litters of kittens but also helps prevent mammillary cancer.

Great post! UCFCC spays and neuters all our local feral cats—not that all neighbors appreciate our efforts. Those coloring pages are neat. The textures make them look like paintings.
