We are looking out over Davis Bayou here.
A bayou is a body of water that's typically found in a flat, low-lying area of the Southern United States. Bayous can be slow-moving streams, rivers, marshy lakes, wetlands, or creeks. They are often shallow and can be heavily wooded
Of course Mark found a bug. Sorry I don't remember it's name.
Pretty sure this is Candy Root aka Bachelor Buttons we had some growing in our yard wild at one time.
And this is Wild Blueberries. ~Sandra

that is great to wander with you... we love this place... but our mama would be a chicken, she would worry for snakes... ;o)
We've been enjoying your nature hike through your pictures.
What a special and restotrative place. Thanks for taking us along!
Looks like a stink bug. :) Nice photos, aside from the bug. XO
Mom says that yes she does think it was a stink bug now that you jogged her memory (thank you) we are so glad our friends are enjoying the hike.
