Wordy Wednesday - Grain Free with Hills Science Diet

Scylla showed off her loot from Hills Science Diet Scylla Sunday, I asked to tell you more about it today, and will focus on the dry cat food this week. Socks is on the prescription y/d food for his thyroid and I have been very pleased with the results. His thyroid is under control and his blood work is good. So I was thrilled to have the opportunity to feed Scylla Hill's® Science Diet® Adult Grain Free.

I was pleased that it is made in the United States. According to Hills

We make every bag of our dry cat food in our own US facilities with highest quality natural ingredients from North America and Europe. These ingredients must meet our strict requirements for purity and nutrient content, which exceed industry standards.

Hills also has  a program to feed shelter pets that you can read about here.

This is a list of ingredients.

Ingredients

Chicken, Potatoes, Yellow Peas, Pea Protein Concentrate, Chicken Fat, Potato Starch, Dried Egg Product, Chicken Meal, Dried Beet Pulp, Flaxseed, Lactic Acid, Chicken Liver Flavor, Soybean Oil, Calcium Sulfate, Vegetable & fruit blend (Green Peas, Apples, Cranberries, Carrots, Broccoli), Choline Chloride, Iodized Salt, Fish Oil, DL-Methionine, L-Lysine, Potassium Chloride, Taurine, vitamins (Vitamin E Supplement, L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate (source of vitamin C), Niacin Supplement, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin A Supplement, Calcium Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement, Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Folic Acid, Vitamin D3 Supplement), minerals (Ferrous Sulfate, Zinc Oxide, Copper Sulfate, Manganous Oxide, Calcium Iodate, Sodium Selenite), Mixed Tocopherols for freshness, Beta-Carotene, Natural Flavors.

I really like the fact that a meat is the FIRST ingredient.

Scylla who is very picky. I know it's hard to believe due to her size switched over to the food with no problems. She really seems to enjoy it. Scylla also has problems regurgitating her food sometimes and it wasn't an issue with this catfood.

It's always a good thing when the food is made in your own Country. That is a big reason why I feed Acana to my dogs. It is locally grown (in Canada) and the ingredients are great!

Wow, good for you AND delicious? Sounds like a real winner to us! Glad to hear Scylla likes it so much, and with no problems.

Glad to hear that Scylla is doing well on her new food. The best part about it is she likes it. It's hard to change food when you have cats that are extremely finicky. Love, Cali, Andy, Tater and Shelly (C.A.T.S)
