Toward the end I spent a lot of time with Yin. She is a very sweet and gentle cat and she looked after me. She always dozed by me so that if I wanted her she would be close to paw. Just by being with me she provided lots of comfort.
I have entrusted Mommy to her. She always stays close to the Mom and keeps her out of trouble. Sometimes Mommy even mistakes her for me. That's not surprising to me, even though Yin is a lot bigger than I ever was she is most like me personality wise.
Mommy doesn't understand why Yinny hissed at Yang and Chimera when they came back from the vet. She never hissed at me when I returned from the vet, although she was always waiting at the door for my return. The truth is Yinny knew my end was near and did all she could to comfort me. Yang got hissed at because HE shouldn't have been going to the vet, he should have stayed out of the rosebushes and Yin was still a bit upset about my death. Yinny didn't know Chimera just went in for her shots, so she was scolding her until Chi Chi just explained it was the annual exam deal. Chimera got a good report and Yang has healed up nicely so all the cats are well now. Fenris is still in the cone of shame, but it's not anything serious so overall my family is doing pretty well. ~Socks, reporting from The Rainbow Bridge.

Farewell Friday
Well I get to do another farewell post. Apparently I have a lot to say now. I am glad Mommy got these contraptions before I left.
They were fun to explore and great for hide and seek.
See you around, ~Socks, reporting from the Rainbow Bridge

Wemembering Wednesday
Mom got some nice pictures of me sleeping under the Christmas Tree, I had a really good life here with my family.
Which brings me to the lovely Poem the Cozy Cottage shared with us.
I too, would make a will
if I could write.
To some poor, wistful, lonely
stray I leave my happy home.
My dish, my cosy bed
my cushioned chair, my toy.
The well-loved lap
The gently stroking hand
The loving voice
The place I made in someone's heart.
The love, that at the last,
Could help me to a peaceful, painless end
Held in loving arms
If I should die
Oh, do not say:
'No more a pet I'll have
To grieve me by its loss'
Seek out a lonely, unloved cat
And give my place to him.
This is my legacy
The love I leave behind
Tis all I have to give
Margaret Trowton
I am lucky as I had a chance to mentor the strays who have inherited my home...........Yin, Yang & Chimera. See I knew my time here was drawing to a close and the Mom made me promise not to leave Scylla alone, so I arranged for some strays (Yin & Yang, and Chimera) to enter our lives, and I figured they would need some guidance so I stuck around long enough to mentor them.
Yang is the sole mancat now and the poor guys (Yang, Fenris, Dad and Youngest Bean) are outnumbered by females (Yin, Chimera, Scylla, Tuiren and Mom), but they will muddle through without me evening out the numbers.
And I will be keeping my eyes on everyone, Sammy has shown me how to get day passes to come back for visits and Yang apparently needs a lot of help from me. No sooner do I pack my bags for the Rainbow Bridge then he manages to get hurt and require stitches. Don't worry the young whipper snapper is OK, but really did he have to go and upset Mom so soon?

Mancat Monday ~Better Together Edition by Socks
I am so happy our fur family has gotten larger I enjoy hanging out with my siblings. Chimera is fun to hang out with, she is a little ball of energy.
She reminds me of Arty Mouse & Charybdis.
Yang is a very satisfactory Mancat in training.
He sleeps in the oddest positions.
He is a very good student and pays attention to everything I tell him.

Sweet dreams are made of........................... A comfy bed to sleep on.
It's a huge plus if the bedspread matches your eyes and showcases your furs to purrfection.
And a Sweet Sister to share the bed with. ~Socks, reporting for ATCAD

Inquisitve Kitten Idolizes her Brother #AtoZChallenge
I am very inquisitive. Mommy says sometimes that is a good thing, but sometimes it's not. Like when I inquire about whats in the dryer by crawling in it. It's OK to be inquisitive about what's in the flowerbeds as long as you don't nibble anything.
Socks is the ideal cat. He knows all about plants and stuffs. He is helping me learn stuffs so I will do good in Cat Scouts.
He is also a true gentlemancat., he is very kind and sweet to all of us.
All of us kittens idolize him. Yang wants to be just like Socks when he grows up.
And yes, I am giving Socks a KISS. ~Chimera, reporting for ATCAD

Cuddling Cats #AtoZChallenge
We have all been more social since the kittens came to live with us. I enjoy spending time with them and they wear Scylla out so she leaves ME ALONE.
The bed gets kinda crowded sometimes.
But I don't mind.
Yang enjoys cuddling.
He always wants to be touching someone.
Yin is more like me she likes her space.

Yowling Good Time
Socks is having a yowling good time with his Turbo Track. The photo was slightly out of focus so I did it in enamel, using PhotoShop.

Touring the Yard
Would you like to tour the yard with me.
Be sure to keep up because I am very good at disappearing.
The Azalea is in full bloom, besides looking gorgeous it's a good place to take a nap. Once you are under it, it is almost impossible for anyone to find you.
The Wisteria are blooming, once they stopped blooming Mommy trimmed them way back. You has to constantly maintain them or they will take over.
Over view of the Butterfly Garden.
Up at the house Mommy's containers are putting on a show.
We have gotten so much rain lately they are looking a bit water logged, so it's nice to see them when they were at their best.

Missing My Brother
Whiskers was my older brother. I still misses him a lot. He made me feel welcome the very first day I came to live here as a young kitten. We hung out together all the time until he died in 2007 because of the petfood recall. He has a blog Whiskers ~ The Last Meow, it deals with animal welfare issues so sometimes the post are a bit sad and Mommy hasn't posted on there in a long time. When he was alive we didn't know about cat blogging and Facebook, which is a shame because he would have LOVED IT. He loved meeting new people and animals. He even brought home a dog once, it was a Cocker Spaniel the kids named Jello. Besides being a handsome Tuxie boy he was a Hemingway Cat and he could open cabinets with his paws and liked to get under the sink in the bathroom and sit on the towels. He was adopted in December he was a Christmas present for the boys and grew up with them. ~Socks
Mancat Monday
I like to hang out with my sister Artemisia, she is a really cool cat.
We always greet each other nicely after we haven't seen each other for awhile. I am going to hang out in the Hummingbird Cottage with Mom while...............................
Artemisia explores the jungle.
I thinks she looks kinda purrty in all the greenry.
She is waiting for some unwary critter to come along so she can pounce on it.
Speaking of critters, there are some Animals in Jackson County Mississippi that needs help. Here is a chance for your humans to Help Animals while they have a good Time Tuesday

Thursday in the Garden
Mommy what is the white stuff in with the Red Hibiscus? Artemisia
Yes, Mommy it is me but what is the plants name? Artemisia
Mommy I thinks we are having a problem communicating. I am asking you what the plant is called I know what I am called.
The plant is called Artemisia too. It is also referred to as Dusty Miller so I guess I better call it that so I don't confuse you.
I have a plant named after ME! how cool.
Hey Socks, what are you doing?
I am admiring the Dusty Miller Mommy planted in the new planter that looks like a dead log.
Bad Mommy can't remember the name of the other two plants she planted with it, but they all look very nice together.
She even put some Dusty Miller in with the Purple Heart.
The Wisteria is so pretty when it is in bloom.
The Chinese Witch Hazel is doing well.
Mommy planted some Dusty Miller in the Charybdis Bed too. Along with a purple flower she can't remember the name of.
The Honeysuckle is blooming at the Hummingbird Cottage.
The Mums are still doing well.
The Gaura is blooming. It has even started to spread in one of the beds. We just love it. For some reason it doesn't do as well in the bed right next to it.
For some strange reason our photographer liked the way the leaves on this tree looked.
Our cactus in the greenhouse is blooming. Mommy needs one of the guys to help here get it out.
And the garlic is ready.
Now we are off to Jonesie's to report to The Society of Feline Gardeners, do come with us. ~Artemisia & Socks
